Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) recently invited Mediven® to participate in an industry partner engagement program at the Pusat Pengajian Sains Perubatan (PPSP), USM Health Campus in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. The initiative served as a strategic platform to strengthen academia and industry collaboration, especially in medical and health sciences research and innovation.
The program reflects Mediven’s commitment to fostering meaningful collaboration between industry and academia to drive medical research and healthcare innovation. By bringing together industry expertise and academic research, Mediven® seeks to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into practical healthcare solutions that improve patient outcomes and benefit society.
As part of the engagement, Mediven® contributed laboratory equipment valued at approximately RM500,000 to support teaching, research activities, and postgraduate training at USM. The contribution is intended to strengthen laboratory capabilities and support the development of future healthcare innovations while reinforcing the vital ecosystem that connects research, education, and industry.
The program also created a valuable platform for dialogue between Mediven® and USM researchers, enabling discussions on potential collaborations in translational research, regulatory systems, manufacturing, and clinical validation. Such engagements play an important role in connecting academic innovation with industry expertise, helping to translate promising research into practical healthcare solutions.
The engagement also served as an inspiring platform for exchanging ideas with academic leaders, further deepening discussions on areas of mutual interest and long-term collaboration. It provided valuable exposure to the evolving needs of the academic and research community while reinforcing opportunities to support the development of future scientific talent through continued industry–academia engagement.
